I definitely sweat with her workouts. I think my issue is still my diet. Not getting enough food in and then eating afterwords to get calories. I also love to run, but do not before or after work because it is still not light enough out. Safety issue for me with traffic. So I only get a good run in on the weekends. Will change soon... I have to remember patience The nutritional part is really very frustrating...

Short intense workouts with a great calorie burn during the workout and for several hours afterwards. You can use twelve minute tabata routines that are very effective. But you are right about nutrition and eating. It is the toughest part to master but accounts for the biggest percentage of making changes to your body. Stay strong and positive. In a marathon there are sometimes hills that are tough and slow us down. The important thing is finishing strong. You can do it!

Not only is obesity a disease but eating that much food has become an addiction and habit for these people- in most cases. Habits are hard to break and they need the emotional and psychological support to deal with the issues that have helped form the habit and addiction. They need to be taught how to "stick" with it and not give up. I was 40 lbs more than I currently am, and I decided I had to change. Support was the big thing for me. I had to make myself accountable and posted my weight and my goal on Facebook for everyone to see what I was doing and NOT doing. That made me accountable. Then I starting doing more, and getting positive encouragement. I felt guilty if I missed a day! I joined this program, started walking and now running 6 miles. My hardest piece is the food. I am getting better with eating more vegetables and fruits, lean meats and balancing the carbs, fats, proteins and fiber. I still struggle with sugar but I am getting there. People can do this if they WANT TO do it, but they have to change their way of thinking. Nothing to take away from your role and job as a surgeon- but I think the patients need to have the psychological support very closely monitored.
