Exercise Routine, Calendar and Set Up
Hello, Hey, Howdy and Yo (whether you're from the North, from the South, a Texan or a West Coaster: greetings and salutations). My name is Bill Z. Found this site and signed up last week. Background: I was just walking for the past few years. Got my son to return my weight set last summer and started doing free weights. Then a few months later he gave me two tubes (50 lb and 70 lb). Love the tubes and picked up a 30 and 40 lb. Now can combine, mix and match for 30 lbs to 160 lbs of resistance tubes for exercises. Came here to pick up more exercises for my routine and from reading the forum see others have asked for a spreadsheet. I put one together last summer for tracking my exercises. It will not attach but you can email me for a copy waziggy@aol.com. Got the first half of the year done and it would be easy for others to personalize for themselves. I walked 6 miles 5 out of 7 days and do my tube exercises MWF.
Set UP: I work out on my front porch (all my doors are pretty much in a hallway and it's nicer being outside anyway). Front porch is 36' wide and 10' deep with 6" wide posts. Drilled and screwed in 6" deep stainless steel eye hooks on one post. One on bottom about 4" from floor, one at chest height and then one at 8' height. Added a second one at the top height approximately 24" apart. For some exercises I just pass the tubes through the "eyes" of the eye hooks and for some I attach using carabiners that easily snap on and off. 58 and half years young and getting in pretty good shape. Funny seeing Bodylastics is in Boca - worked there on Yamato Rd for 10 years before coming to the Raleigh area. That's where I learned the different greetings when I had a building where we had folks from Boca, Raleigh, Austin, and San Jose...
